Nicklas Nygren is an absolute genius when it comes to making video games. Knytt is yet another one of his platformers featuring "The Knytt", a strange monkey like creature. After being abducted by aliens, the ship crashes on a strange planet. It's up to you to find the missing parts for the ship!

Knytt has some of the most fluid platform physics I've ever seen. Although your set of moves is restricted to jumping and climbing walls, the entire experience is as smooth as silk. I can admit that I genuinely had fun jumping from wall to wall and maneuvering past obstacles.

While the graphics are small and pixelated, I have a hard time not adoring them. Knytt is a fine example of top-notch pixel art. The animations are great, the backgrounds are great, and the entire atmosphere is nothing short of stunning.

Music wise, the game feels a little empty. Every time you move to a new area, a short 15 second music cue plays. The cues themselves are amazing, but I just wish they kept playing. Instead, you're treated to a short burst of music and then silence for several minutes until you reach another area.

As for the difficulty, platforming is the main element and it only gets tricky, not hard. While the planet is populated with creatures, hardly any of them hurt you. They are merely there to create a presence of life. In fact, there are very few enemies within the game at all and most can easily be avoided. This shows that the core of the game is exploration, not survival.

Short story long, Knytt is an absolute MUST PLAY. I can guarantee that anyone who picks up this game will not want to put it down.
